Lady Wildcats Shut Out Aynor 10-0

Dillon’s Lady Wildcats shut out the Blue Jackets 10-0 in Aynor on Tuesday.

The game was scoreless until the top of the third, when Dillon scored five runs. The Wildcats added five more in the fourth to claim the win in five innings.

Shaquailla German pitched all five innings for the Wildcats, allowing only three hits and one walk while striking out four. Shelby Cutler took the loss for Aynor, pitching four innings for 11 hits, 10 runs, eight earned runs, two walks, and six outs.

At bat, Shayna Covington went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and a stolen base for the Wildcats; Tara Grimsley went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two runs scored; Rebecca Callahan went 2-for-3 with four RBIs and two runs scored; Darby Hamer went 2-for-3 with four RBIs, a double, and two runs scored; Da’Kerhia Samuel went 2-for-3 with an RBI; Taylor Price picked up an RBI; Alexia Pinkney stole a base; and Shaquailla German went 1-for-2 with two runs scored.

In the field, Darby Hamer had five put outs and Shayna Covington made two. Dallas Rowell, Ma’Kayla Drake, Shaquailla German and Tara Grimsley each made one put out. German and Covington each made two assists, and Hamer, Rebecca Callahan, and Taylor Price each made one.

The Lady Wildcats remain undefeated in the regular season with a 10-0 overall record and a 5-0 in Region 8-2A.

Up next, Dillon will host Loris at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, March 30. On Monday and Tuesday, the Lady Wildcats are scheduled to play in Cheraw’s spring break tournament. Then on Wednesday, April 11, the Lady Cats will be back to regular season action when they host Mullins at 6:30 p.m.
