Latta – Flora McDonald Smith, 93, died at the McLeod Regional Medical Center in Dillon, Tuesday, February 14, 2012. Memorial services will be held 2:00 P.M. Graveside, Friday, February 17, 2012 in Magnolia Cemetery in Latta, SC.
Kannaday Funeral Home in Latta is assisting the family.
Mrs. Smith was born March 6, 1918 in Latta, SC, the daughter of the late John Franklin and Ariadne McLean McDonald. She was the widow of Vincent Inabinet Smith whom she married November 25, 1937. Flora was an avid reader, homemaker and life long member of Latta Presbyterian Church. She was a graduate of Latta High School, Class of 1935, and Flora MacDonald College in Red Springs, NC, Class of 1939.
She is survived by her niece, Jacquelyn Foster Anderson of Mt. Pleasant, SC and her nephews, John Thomas Foster, Allen E. Ward, of Dalton GA, and Jim McDonald of Columbia, SC. She was predeceased by her sisters, Alice McDonald Ward, Nina McDonald Venters, and Mary McDonald Foster, and her brother, John Franklin McDonald.
