Gators Fall to Bears 73-35

Lake View’s Wild Gators continued to struggle for their first win of the season as they fell 73-35 to the Carvers Bay Bears.

Lake View finished the first quarter with ah 13-9 lead, but Bears turned things around in the second to go 16-8 for a 25-21 lead at the half. From then on, it was a runaway game for Carvers Bay as they outscored Lake View 22-6 in the third and 26-8 in the fourth for the win.

Dashaun Aiken and Teondre Burnell led Carvers Bay with 22 and 20 points respectively. Rayshad Dorsey added seven points; Rayshod Pittman and Lashawn Morris each added six; Shayton Durand scored four; and Stefon Hanna and Shamarr Hilton each earned two.

Lake View was led by Darius Leonard with a team-high 10 points. Chris Ford added eight points and Michael Paige scored seven. Shaquille Foxworth contributed four points, with Christian McDaniel and Morgan McDaniel each adding two points for the Wild Gators.

Lake View falls to 0-5 for the season and 0-3 in Region 8A. Carvers Bay improves to 7-6 overall.

Next up, the Wild Gators will host Latta in a region matchup on Friday at 6:00 p.m. Latta is fresh off a non-region win over Dillon.

Then on Monday, January 9, Lake View will travel to face the Dillon Christian School Warriors at 6:00 p.m., and on Wednesday, January 11, the Wild Gators will host Dillon beginning at 6:00 p.m. Make plans to attend to support all our local teams!
