Donell Stanley
The 15-year old Latta sophomore will be accompanied by Coach Chris German as they both embark on their first airplane flight. (One will recall that German is the guy who came off the bench to sink 3 of 4 free throws to win the state championship game during the Felton era.)
Stanley was selected to attend after showcasing his talents at the Clemson football camp this past summer. Stanley wears a size 23 shoe and the Carolina Panthers have helped provide those for the past two years.
The Under Armour Combine showcases top senior talent from around the United States. Stanley was not yet old enough to participate, but will likely be invited back in the near future.
“He’s got the size and the smarts to continue to improve,” said Latta Head Football Coach Kelly Williamson.
“He’s a very well-mannered, polite kid,” said Latta Athletic Director Michael Rogers. “He’s going to go far.”
