Jamie Callahan Picked for 2011 Under-Armour® All-America Game

Dillon High School’s Jamie Callahan has been chosen to play in the 2011 Under Armour® All-America Baseball Game on August 13 at Wrigley Field in Chicago, Illinois.

Callahan, a 6-foot-3, 200-lb. right-handed pitcher, has a quick arm with a fastball that averages about 90 mph. He is scheduled to graduate from Dillon High in 2012.

Callahan was one of several Dillon players named High School Sports Report’s All-State, North/South All-State, and South Carolina High School League All-Region and All-State.

Callahan was the fifth commitment for the University of South Carolina’s 2012 class.

In addition to playing for the Wildcats, Callahan is also a member of the 2012 Canes baseball team, which will wrap its summer schedule just before the All-America game. He also played for the Shockwave AAU team this summer and has participated in several showcases throughout the Southeast, with the most recent in Lakeland, Florida.

Callahan is the son of Greg and Sandra Callahan of Hamer. His grandparents are Leroy and Joann Callahan of Little Rock and Sonny and Sylvia Bethea of the Oakland community.

The All-America game showcases the nation’s top high school players, The game will be broadcast live on the MLB Network beginning at 1:05 p.m. on August 13.
