Mr. Bobby Jack Spivey, Sr. (Casey) died Saturday, May 28, 2011 after an illness.
The family will receive friends Monday, May 30, 2011 from 1:00 to 2:30 at Cooke Funeral Home of Lake View. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 pm at Bear Swamp Baptist Church, Lake View. Burial will follow at Bear Swamp Church Cemetery directed by Cooke Funeral Home of Lake View.
Mr. Spivey was born in Dillon County on May 21, 1938, the son of Walter Roland and Estelle Evans Spivey. He was a member of Bear Swamp Baptist Church, a retired Captain with the Dillon County Sherriff’s Department, and a former farmer. He was also a member of Hillsboro Masonic Lodge of Lake View and Lake View Fire Department.
Surviving Mr. Spivey are his wife, Linda Lupo Spivey, of the home; one son, Bobby Jack Spivey, Jr., (Nancy) of Eastover, SC; daughters, Lisa Spivey Miller (Mitchell) and Barbie Spivey Suggs (Lawrence), both of Lake View; Sisters, Juanita Spivey Floyd (Bob) and Betty Ruth Spivey Blackmon, both of Lake View; 7 grandchildren, Amanda Bailey, Lauren Suggs, Michele Miller, Amber Suggs, Chessie Miller, Bobby Jack Spivey, III, and Amy Spivey; 2 great grandchildren, Christopher and Balin Rice; and special friend, Gene Moody of Lake View.
Mr. Spivey was preceded in death by his brothers, W. B. Spivey, Roland Spivey, Dan Spivey, and Tom Spivey; and sisters, Ann Spivey Wallace and Sarah Spivey Richardson.
