LifePoint Church To Present Summer Outdoor Theater

Enjoy family-friendly movies, drinks and popcorn. The best part? Everything’s free.
LifePoint Church will again present Summer Outdoor Theater this summer.
The series of outdoor movies is a free, community event that begins this Saturday and continues through August.
The first movie, “How To Train Your Dragon,” is about a “young Viking who aspires to hunt dragons becomes the unlikely friend of a young dragon himself, and learns there may be more to the creatures than he assumed” according to the movie’s website. The PG-rated animated film starts at sunset Saturday at the Dillon Sports and Recreation soccer fields.
Future movies will be shown the third Saturday of June and August and the fourth Saturday in July. Other movies in the lineup include “Despicable Me” on June 18; “The New Karate Kid” on July 23, and either “Toy Story 3” or “Gnomeo and Juliet” will be shown Aug. 20.
Gates open at 7 p.m. Movies start at sunset and will be shown on a screen about 15 feet by 20 feet.
The movie screen will be set up on the soccer field, so you might want to bring a chair or blanket.
John Keen, pastor of LifePoint Church, says that the church will give away “a ton of gift certificates and door prizes.”
Keen said Summer Outdoor Theater is a fun, relaxed event.
Where there is not just one demographic, but rather a diverse crowd of families, college kids and senior citizens attending. Summer Outdoor Theater is free with “no strings attached” because LifePoint Church wants “to make Dillon County a better place to live.”
There will be no sermon, just a movie. For more information, visit www.lifepointwired.com or call 843-627-4763.
