Erika Bryant To Present Senior Recital

Erika Bryant, soprano and a voice student of Robin Thompson for the past thirteen years, will present her senior recital at 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 21 in the sanctuary of Main Street United Methodist Church. A reception will follow in Asbury Hall.
The program will begin with Italian Art Songs and Opera Arias featuring the music of Giordani, Carissimi; and Puccini followed by English and American Art Songs and Opera Arias by Hagerman, Schonberg, and Boublil from The King and I, Babes In Arms, Cinderella, Brigadoon, The Secret Garden, and Les Miserables will be sung next. The program will conclude with sacred selections including “Give Me Jesus” and Joseph Martin’s “A Blessing of Music.”
Erika will be accompanied by her teacher Robin Thompson on piano and organ, and will be joined by Tenor, Shaw Thompson, and Soprano, Rebecca Thompson on several selections. The recital will last about an hour, and there will be a short intermission.
Erika is the 18 year old daughter of J.C. and Peggy Bryant and is a senior at Dillon Christian School where she is Student Body President. Erika has served at Lt. Governor at Palmetto Girls State, Anchor Club, President, and is the former Miss Florence Teen (2010), 4th runner up to Miss S.C. Teen and the Preliminary Talent Winner for Miss S.C. Teen (2010).
Erika is Miss Pageland (2011) and will be competing in the Miss South Carolina Pageant June 28-30; she will be attending the University of South Carolina in the fall where she is planning to double major in Vocal Performance and Mass Communications. The public is cordially invited to attend this recital.
