LMS Junior Scholars Recognized

Latta Middle School is honored to recognize four eighth-grade students as South Carolina Junior Scholars. Amber Campbell, Jonathan Hayes, Brooke Paschal, and Dorian Webster all qualified by earning a significant score on the PSAT college entrance test. This group of Junior Scholars, which reflects a dedication by students, parents, faculty and staff to prepare our students for rigorous academic challenges. These students were honored in a regional ceremony at Francis Marion University on April 4, 2011.
The South Carolina Junior Scholars program was developed by the State Department of Education during the 1985-86 school year to identify eight-grade students with exceptional academic talent. This program reflects the growing statewide effort to improve education in South Carolina and responds to the needs of students possessing unique abilities.
Latta Middle School conducted PSAT preparation sessions with all eighth-graders who took the test, to help prepare them for the challenge presented by the PSAT. LMS is very proud of these students who represent our student body and the desire they have to strive for academic excellence in all they do.
