Services for Joe Brown, Sr. will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday in Fork Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. Thursday in Cooper Funeral Home.
Mr. Brown, 69, died Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at his residence.
Born in Dillon County, July 19, 1941, he was the son of the late Charlie Brown, Sr. and Thelma Stephens Brown. He was a member of Fork Baptist Church, was a S.C. Army National Guard Veteran, and was retired from Wix.
Survivors include his wife, Suzanne Berry Brown of Lake View; sons, Joe Brown, Jr. (Jami) of Marion, and Josh Brown (Lisa) of Greenwood, SC; granddaughter, Patricia Brown; sisters, Elizabeth Bryant (Hugh) of Latta, and Betty Newell of Fork; brothers, Charlie W. Brown, Jr. (Pauline) of Floydale, Wade Brown (Faye) of Latta, Craig Brown of Floydale, Dean Johnson (Jean) of Latta, and Hayes Barfield (Melanie) of Lake View.
Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his son, Jack Allen Brown; daughter, Thelma Margaret Brown; sisters, Annie Dollison, Clara King, and Mabel Manning; and brother, J.D. Brown.
