Mrs. Mary Cook Jones, 89, died Friday, January 14, 2011 at Wood Haven, Lumberton, NC after an illness.
Funeral services were Monday, January 17, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Olivet United Methodist Church, Marietta, NC. Burial followed at Marietta Cemetery directed by Cook Funeral Home of Lake View, SC. The family received friends, Sunday, January 16, 2011 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Olivet United Methodist Church. If you wish to visit the family at other times, they will be at the home of Mrs. Jones in Marietta, NC.
Mrs. Jones was born in Bishopville, SC on February 12, 1921, the daughter of Samuel and Felicia Koon Cook. Mrs. Jones was a member of the Tea Cup Squares and the Twin State Twirlers. Mrs. Jones also taught school for 39 years. Mrs. Jones is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Sealy (Michael), son-in-laws, Mike Tisler and Stanley Callahan; Peggy Cook Sox, Sister; Seven Grandchildren, Candy C. Hayes (Tony), Elliot Callahan, Lucas Callahan, Clay Sealy, Michel Sealy, Casey Sealy, Joe Tisler, and Lee Tisler; Five Great Grandchildren, Cassie Walters, Benjamin Walters, Kaitlyn Hayes, Hailey Hayes, and Rilyn Sealy.
Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Fletcher Jones, and her daughters, Alice Jones Callahan and Dawn Jones Tisler.
