Mount Calvary Senior Adult Christmas Banquet Held

On November 30, Mount Calvary Baptist Church held their annual Senior Adult Christmas Banquet.  The banquet hall was beautifully decorated with a Christmas tree and a huge manger scene.  A meal was provided in honor of the senior adults and was prepared by the church members.  Before the meal, Pastor Greg Hyler, delivered a message from Luke 2:21-38 about two senior adults who met Jesus after He was born.  Both Simeon and Anna prophesied when Jesus’ parents brought Him to the temple.  Simeon declared, “My eyes have seen thy salvation,” when he looked upon Jesus. 

Jesus came to die on a cross for the sin of man, and then he rose on the third day.  After offering his life as payment for mankind’s sin debt, Jesus now provides salvation for all who by faith repent of sin and trust in him.  The pastor encouraged the Mount Calvary senior adults to continue their work for the Lord as did Simeon and Anna.  After the meal, presents were given out to all the senior adults.
