Chris J. Bowman, 59, of Dillon, SC, died Thursday, November 18, 2010 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center, Lumberton, NC.
Born April 9, 1951, in Bossier Parish, LA, Mr. Bowman was the son of the late Don H. and Lucille B. Bowman. He was a retired minister, member of First Baptist Church, Dillon, SC, and former pastor of Latta Baptist Church, Latta, SC. The Rev. Dr. Bowman was a graduate of Oak Ridge High School, Orlando, FL; Mercer University, Macon, GA; Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Ft. Worth, TX; and Drew University, Madison, NJ.
Surviving Mr. Bowman are his wife, Virginia Daws Bowman, and daughter, Caroline Bowman, both of Dillon, SC, and his brother Craig W. Bowman of Eden, NC.
A private graveside service for family will be held at Greenelawn Memory Gardens, Greeneville, TN, on Sunday, November 21. A public memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church, Dillon, SC, on Sunday November 28 at 4:00 p.m.
