Sadie Mae Porter

 

Services for Sadie Mae Porter will be held 4:30 p.m. Thursday at Full Gospel Holiness Church with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Cooper Funeral Home.

Mrs. Porter, 80, died Sunday, August 15, 2010 at her residence.

Born in Dillon County, June 3, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Allen Cook and Mary Kirby Cook. She was a member of Full Gospel Holiness Church, and was a homemaker. She was the widow of the late Bernice Porter.

Survivors include her children, Betty Lane, Peggy (Johnny) Powers, and Bernice (Shirley) Porter, all of Dillon, Billy (Jenny) Porter of Potosi, Missouri; sister, Hazel (Grady) Lane of Fair Bluff, NC; brother, Cecil Cook of Norfolk, VA; grandchildren, Kimberly Lane, Hugh, Daniel, James, and Bobby Hargrove, Jessica Porter, and Timothy (Jennette) Hopson; great-grandchildren, Butterball, Felisha, and Elijah; sister-in-law, Sue Cook; nephew, Bo Cook.

Mrs. Porter was preceded in death by her sisters, Lucille Cook, Dinah Cook, and Alene Scott; brother, J.C. “Wimpy” Cook, and nephews, Allen Cook and Roscoe Lane.
