By Betsy Finklea

The Dillon County Democratic Party heard a protest this morning (Thursday) from Penny German, a candidate in the probate judge’s race. She alleged voting irregularities and illegal activity in the voting process and asked for a new election.  The executive committeemen of the Dillon County Democratic Party deliberated and decided in a 14-0 vote that  there would be no new election. German has until 3 p.m. on Friday to appeal this decision to the State Democratic Party. German was defeated by Teresa Campbell in a run-off election on June 22 by 17 votes. Further details will be in The Dillon Herald next week.
