Mr. Ronald Eugene Owens, 61, died Friday, June 18, 2010 at his sister and brother-in-law’s home in Chesapeake, VA. Visitation will be Sunday, June 20, 2010 at Kannaday Funeral Home in Dillon, SC from 7:00- 9:00 PM. Funeral services are Monday, June 21, 2010 at 2:00 PM in Kannaday Funeral home Chapel in Dillon with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery.
Born in Dillon County, SC April 29, 1949, Mr. Owens was the son of the late Beaulah Ruth Christmas and Elberrt Owens. He was employed by Stericycle of Springfield, MO for 20 years.
Surviving him are his wife of 33 years, Marlena J. Owens; daughter Michelle (Jonas) Carter of Bowling Green, KY; 3 sons, Peter James Owens of Canada, Ronnie E. Owens of Springfield, MO, and Ron E. Owens of Norfolk, VA; his sisters Barbara Ann Parker of Dillon, SC, Patsy (Bill) Sweat of Chesapeake, VA, Donna (Ben) Caulder of Dillon, SC and Brenda Summerford of Sellers, SC; 4 grandsons, 2 beloved dogs: Fox and Spook; a special niece, Crystal J. Lewis; 4 sisters-in-law: Alice Stone, Kay Ford, Dena Guillians and Donna Levan and 2 beloved fiance’s: Lisa Bournes and Michelle Adams. Mr. Owens was predeceased by daughter Beverly Ann Gold and brothers Carl Maston Owens and Bruce Mitchell Owens.
