DAR Meets

Fourteen members of the Rebecca Pickens Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution had their final meeting for the year on May 11,2010 at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church. Hostesses  for the meeting were Mrs. Polly McIntyre, Mrs. Maxine Taber. Mrs. Jimmie Rogers and Mrs. Sally McSwain who served delicious refreshments.
The usual end-of-year program was presented by music pupils from Dillon Christian School under the direction of Mrs. Mary Freitas.
The group who was made up of pupils in grades one through six really performed well and were very much enjoyed.
The main business of the meeting was the installation of officers for the new year. Mrs. Mary  Lib Rogers, outgoing regent, thanked her fellow officers and all the members as well for their support during her two years.
After officers were installed, the gavel was presented to Mrs. Julia Adams Mclaurin newly-elected regent.
After  a short overview of next years meetings and programs with the help of Mrs. Rosemary Bethea, vice regent, the meeting was adjourned by Mrs. McLaurin.
