Yellow Jessamine Garden Club-May meeting

The Yellow Jessamine Garden Club held its annual spring social at The Kintyre House on Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at 6:30 p.m.
President Mary Ricks opened a short business meeting with a poem titled THE BUTTERFLY AND CHRIST.  Chaplain Shirley Gundry gave the blessing.  During the roll-call each member responded with her favorite butterfly.  Eight members were present and one guest.
President Ricks reminded the members of the open house at The Columns B&B on May 8, 2010 from 2 until 5 p.m. sponsored by the Dillon Garden Club.  Tickets will be available at the door and from any Dillon Garden Club Member.  June 6-12 is National Garden Week.  Also June 10, 2010 is the date our Garden Club will be pruning and weeding at the South Carolina Welcome Center on I-95 in cooperation with The Dillon County Council of Garden Clubs.  May 19, 2010 is spring clean-up at the Highway #9 Roadside Park.  President Mary Ricks passed out to the members the 2010 Summer Park Schedule for the #9 Roadside Park. Everyone enjoyed a good meal and great fellowship.  President Mary Ricks wished everyone a great summer.
The Yellow Jessamine Garden Club was organized in 1940 and Federated with GCSC in 1941.  Member of National Garden Clubs, Inc., South Atlantic Regional of National Council, The Garden Club of SC, Inc., Coastal District of GCSC and Dillon Council of Garden Clubs.  Colors: Yellow and Green.  Flower: Yellow Jessamine.
