FRIDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL: Latta, Lake View and DCS Win… Dillon Gets Shut Out

The Dillon Wildcats got shut out at home for the first time in 11 seasons on Friday night, suffering a 28-0 non-region loss to Marlboro County here at Memorial Stadium.

Dillon (3-2 record now) got to the 1-yard line with less than 4 minutes to play, but couldn’t get in the end zone.

Dillon will play host to Aynor in their Region 8-2A opener next Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Meanwhile, Latta took a 34-18 win at Green Sea-Floyds to move to 1-1 in Region 8A play. The Vikings moved to 3-3 on the season.

Latta will have its bye week this coming week, before playing host to Hemingway on October 9 at 7:30 p.m. in another Region 8A contest.

Class A Dillon Christian School, on Friday, pulled away from a 14-0 halftime lead to take a 34-0 home win against SCISA Class 2A Florence Christian School.

DCS is now 5-1 on the season, and will play host to Fayetteville Village Christian next Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Lake View (4-1 record with a 4-game win streak), playing a Region 8A game at Johnsonville on Friday, reportedly won late into the night, 26-24, in a game that had been suspended at least once. No further report from the game was available.
